According to European Pravda, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this at a briefing after a meeting of the Alliance’s defense ministers.
“Allies in NATO are providing Ukraine with advanced systems, including artillery, air defenses, armored vehicles. And I welcome Spain’s announcement today to provide four Hawk launchers to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses – in addition to what the allies have provided over the past days Thank you allies for their significant contribution, and I urge you to further strengthen support,” the NATO Secretary General said.
Stoltenberg also announced that Ukraine will receive anti-drone assets from NATO to defend against Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
The communiqué of the Spanish Ministry of Defense about the meeting with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov does not mention Hawk systems. At the same time, it is noted that Minister Margarita Robles offered the Ukrainian side various opportunities for training the military – both in a bilateral format and the EU mission, the creation of which is beginning. Among the already existing bilateral projects, the training of the Ukrainian military in Zaragoza on Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems is mentioned.
On Wednesday, October 12, the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Spain discussed the next package of military assistance to Ukraine.
