Irakli Garibashvili does not care about national security because he was the prime minister who did not come to the meetings of the Security Council of Giorgi Margvelashvili, because he had no time, – said Teona Akubardia, one of the leaders of the Agmashenebeli Strategy (Builder) in the Newsroom of the Day program on the Palitranews TV channel.

According to her, the main problem in the country is the authorities, who do not consider national security a priority at all.

“When they say that, they say, we support Ukraine, then sending humanitarian supplies and support at the international level is not enough. In this situation, when Russia is our common enemy and when the victory of Georgia depends on the victory of Ukraine, the non-condemnation of the referendum, as well as the annexation processes that Russia is carrying out, including in Abkhazia, I mean the annexation of Pitsunda (Bichvint), this is a step against national interests of the country.

In this situation, the main problem is the government, which considers national security to be a non-priority, and not only this year, but for a long time.

Irakli Garibashvili does not care about national security because it was the prime minister who did not come to the meetings of the Security Council convened by Giorgi Margvelashvili, because he had no time, and today we see that this vicious practice continues and the country is governed through deals, based on private and party interests.

This is not Irakli Garibashvili’s personal policy because it was the same during the previous prime minister. The collapse of the security councils began during the time of Giorgi Kvirikashvili,” Teona Akubardia said.

According to her, the statement by Secretary of the Security Council of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri that there is no need to convene a meeting of the Security Council is something unheard of.

“Unfortunately, we see that Georgia does not have any security policy in connection with the Russian occupation and current threats because the security institutions have collapsed,” Akubardia said.
