The United States has transferred two NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine that can provide protection against rocket attacks.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with CBS TV channel, Ukrinform reports.
“We need the United States to show leadership and provide Ukraine with air defense systems. I want to thank President Biden and the US Congress for the positive decision already made – we received NASAMS,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, he stressed that “this is absolutely not enough to cover civilian infrastructure: schools, hospitals, universities, Ukrainian dwellings.” “We need security to encourage Ukrainians to return home. If it’s safe, they’ll come, settle down, work here, pay taxes, and we won’t have a $5 billion budget deficit. This will be positive for everyone,” the President noted.
