From March to June, 42,577 Russian citizens stayed in Georgia for long-term residence

Of the Russian citizens who entered Georgia from February 25 to June 30, 2022, 42,577 people have not left the country so far, according to a study by the non-governmental organization IDFI.

In March-June 2022, 277,698 citizens of Russia, 74,385 citizens of Ukraine and 54,147 citizens of Belarus entered Georgia.

As for Russia and Belarus, some of those who arrived were ordinary tourists, some were migrants who considered Georgia as a transit base and soon moved to other countries. The remaining 42,577 people probably see Georgia as a place for a longer stay.

The vast majority of Ukrainians were refugees, of whom about 30,000 currently remain in Georgia.
