I am confident that Georgia and Ukraine will restore unity, territorial integrity and prosperity in a peaceful, secure Europe
According to Zurabishvili, Georgia is well aware of the events in Ukraine. She noted that the Kremlin’s aggression against its peaceful neighbors is a behavior that Georgia has experienced on numerous occasions.
“For Georgia, the events in Ukraine, unfortunately, are well known. The Kremlin’s aggression against its peaceful neighbors is a behavior that Georgia has experienced on numerous occasions. We know very well what it means to see the conquest and occupation of your territories. We are well aware of the price paid by your military and citizens. On behalf of the people of Georgia, I would like to express our admiration for your courageous struggle and say that we firmly believe that this struggle will end in victory,” Salome Zurabishvili said.
In addition, as Salome Zurabishvili noted, Ukraine’s struggle is already successful, as it has received an unprecedented response from the international community, which was not the case in August 2014 and 2008.
“I am sure that this anachronistic war will end soon and Ukraine, standing on the right side of history, will win. There is no place for occupation in the 21st century. Mr. President Zelensky, I am confident that our countries will restore unity, territorial integrity and prosperity in a peaceful, secure Europe. I congratulate you on Independence Day,” said Salome Zurabishvili.
