Large amounts of undeclared money found at Batumi and Tbilisi airports

Georgian customs officers found 301,430 undeclared US dollars while examining the luggage of citizens of Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Israel at customs checkpoints at Tbilisi and Batumi airports. This is reported by the Georgian Revenue Service.

In terms of lari (at the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Georgia), the indicated amount was 835,467 lari.

In accordance with Part 3 of Article 169 of the Customs Code of Georgia, the offenders were fined 10% of undeclared funds (83,546 GEL).
