Garibashvili made a statement in connection with the birthday of National Hero Giorgi Kvinitadze
According to the head of government, the selfless fighter for the freedom of the Motherland, one of the creators of the modern Georgian army, did not lose faith in the restoration of the country’s independence even in the most difficult days of being in exile.
“Today is the birthday of Giorgi Kvinitadze, the national hero of Georgia, an outstanding political and military figure, the commander-in-chief of the Democratic Republic of Georgia. A devoted fighter for the freedom of the Motherland, one of the creators of the modern Georgian army, he did not lose faith in the restoration of the country’s independence even in the most difficult days of his stay in exile.
“There is no bullet that will kill me, because my roots are from the country that was killed, but it did not die” – these words embody the idea of Georgia’s immortality, its freedom and statehood.
It is a great honor for us that last year we had the opportunity to transport the remains of Giorgi Kvinitadze to our homeland after a long separation.
The name of the great son of the Fatherland, Giorgi Kvinitadze will forever remain in the history of Georgia, in the memory of each of us, future generations,” the Prime Minister notes.
