The government of the United States, as well as allied and partner countries, are developing, as a matter of priority, capabilities to provide Ukraine with air defense systems against the backdrop of massive missile strikes from the Russian Federation.

This was stated on Monday during a briefing at the Pentagon by US Defense Department spokesman Patrick Ryder, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“With regard to air defense, this continues to be a priority for the US government, for the Department of Defense to work closely with the Ukrainian side, as well as our allies and partners, to provide them (Ukraine – ed.) with additional air defense systems,” the Defense Department spokesman said. USA.

He noted that “very soon” the first NASAMS complexes will already be deployed in Ukraine, and the Ukrainian side will announce this. At the same time, Ryder noted, the United States will continue to explore ways to increase this support for Ukraine.

In parallel, according to him, the Pentagon, as well as US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, personally continue to contact allies and partners. The purpose of these negotiations is to determine what other defense capabilities, both in defense depots and in factories in these countries, that can be immediately supplied to Ukraine.
