The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), who were on a visit to Georgia, held meetings with political parties in the Georgian Parliament.

According to the head of the OSCE/ODIHR monitoring mission Albert Jonsson, in addition to representatives of political parties, a meeting is planned at the Central Election Commission.

As for the topic of the meetings, according to Jonsson, the meetings discuss OSCE/ODIHR recommendations and exchange views.

“We are here on a standard visit. When we release our final election observation mission report, we traditionally visit the host country with a delegation. Now there are three of us. We will discuss our recommendations with all relevant parties, including political parties and the Central Electoral Commission, and any questions or comments they may have regarding our recommendations. This is a standard, routine visit in this regard. Naturally, each country is unique and has its own characteristics,” said Albert Jonsson.

Representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR mission have already met with members of the United National Movement, the united opposition faction Strength in Unity, as well as with representatives of the Reform Group.
