Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an evening address on Sunday, announced progress in the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army, which began last week.
He thanked the Ukrainian military for taking two settlements in the south and a third in the east of the country, as well as for regaining control over additional territory in the east of the country.
Zelenskiy did not specify where the territories were or exactly when they were recaptured from the Russian army, but added that he received “good reports” at a meeting on Sunday from his military command and intelligence chief.
Earlier there were reports that Ukrainian troops liberated Vysokopolye in the Kherson region and the village of Ozerny in the Donetsk region.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on these claims, and the BBC is unable to promptly verify them.
