The working visit of the delegation of the Parliament of Georgia to the capital of Japan has begun. The delegation is led by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

As part of the visit, meetings will be held throughout the day with the heads of the House of Representatives and the lower house of Japan.

“The meetings that are taking place today in the House of Representatives of Japan serve several purposes. First of all, it is the deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. One of the main issues will be support for the de-occupation policy, which has been supported by Japanese colleagues for many years, although it is important to step up efforts in this direction. Of course, we will talk about economic relations, tourism, sports, as well as cooperation in the field of education, which is also important for our country. Of course, we will talk about the current geopolitical situation in the region and the challenges that our region, including our country, have,” said Mamuka Mdinaradze, chairman of the Georgian Dream faction.
