Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents of the capital to prepare for the worst.

If Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, he said, they should prepare for a lack of electricity, water, or heating.

“We are doing everything to avoid this. But speaking frankly, our enemies are doing everything to ensure that the city is left without heat, electricity and water supply. They do everything to make sure we all die. And the future of the country and the future of each of us depend on how prepared we are for various situations,” Klitschko said.

According to the New York Times, in the event of a complete power outage, the Kyiv authorities plan to evacuate 3 million residents of the capital.
