At the event dedicated to the Diplomat’s Day, a solemn ceremony of presenting the diplomatic award named after Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani was held.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilya Darchiashvili, presented a departmental award to Merab Antadze, a researcher at the Diplomatic Training and Research Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia named after Levan Mikeladze, for fruitful work and contribution to the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict and reconciliation in various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia since the restoration of independence;
to an experienced Georgian diplomat, currently a researcher at the Diplomatic Training and Research Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia named after Levan Mikeladze Mikhail Ukleb for many years of fruitful work in the diplomatic service of Georgia, including at the origins of the country’s integration into the European Union and for his significant contribution to this work.

Diplomat’s Day has been celebrated in Georgia every year since 2004 and is tied to the birthday of the greatest Georgian writer, public figure and diplomat Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani. It should be noted that the departmental award named after Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani was established in 2020.
