Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the head of the IMF mission in Georgia James John.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister, the discussion at the meeting touched upon the activities of the International Monetary Fund in Georgia.

It was emphasized that the current program of the International Monetary Fund in the light of the challenges in the region is of great importance.

The head of government thanked James John for the firm support of the International Monetary Fund on the path of Georgia’s development and reforms. Readiness to continue the ongoing reforms in the country was expressed at the meeting. Trends in economic growth in Georgia were highlighted.

As noted, the economic growth of the country for the nine months of this year amounted to 10.2 percent. It was noted that, despite the fact that inflation remains one of the most important global problems, one can observe the dynamics of inflation reduction in Georgia. The meeting, held in the government administration, was attended by the IMF Resident Representative in Georgia, Selim Chakir, and Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili.
