Volsky also commented on the assessment of Gakharia’s statement by Georgian Dream MP Dmitry Samkharadze, who called Giorgi Gakharia a rat and noted that a rat has certain properties.

According to him, when the ex-prime minister makes a statement, this is a message to the whole world, and members of the Georgian Dream in their comments noted that there are no grounds for such statements, and such behavior is “ugly”.

“He made a statement about corruption, Ivanishvili’s oligarchy, and I don’t think that he, as a politician and even as a person, showed himself to society from the best side. He went a long way from business ombudsman to prime minister, and I don’t think that a person who had a certain personal relationship with Bidzina Ivanishvili and his team has anything real that there were violations and misconduct. There can be no other grounds for this statement, except as a political goal and speculation,” Volsky said.

For reference, the former Prime Minister of Georgia, the leader of the For Georgia party, Giorgi Gakharia, said that corruption and oligarchy are the great enemies of democracy, and they need to be defeated in Georgia.

“Both destroy state institutions, destroy democracy and kill hope for the future. Both must be defeated in Georgia!” Giorgi Gakharia wrote on Twitter.
