An information center for Ukrainian refugees has been opened at the Tbilisi International Airport. With the help of the information center, Ukrainians will be able to receive information about the services available to them in the state, and, if necessary, they will be provided with psychosocial assistance and primary hygiene items.

The event was attended by Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia Andriy Kasyanov, according to whom he is very pleased to take part in the opening of the Information Center for Supporting Ukrainian Citizens.

“The Information Center of the Georgian Red Cross Society at Tbilisi International Airport will allow citizens of Ukraine to receive critical information about the government services available to them. First of all, for registration of temporary stay in Georgia. In addition, citizens of Ukraine will be provided with psychological support, and a safe recreation area will be opened for Ukrainian children, they will also be provided with personal hygiene products. This is a flagship initiative, which will also be implemented at the airports of Kutaisi, Batumi and at the Lars CCI,” Andrey Kasyanov said.

Andrei Kasyanov thanked the Georgian government for extending the program of assistance to Ukrainian refugees for another six months.

“Taking this opportunity, I want to thank the government of Georgia for the important decision, which provides for the extension for another six months of a special program of financial support for Ukrainian citizens in Georgia. For us, this is not just dry data. This is an opportunity for more than 30,000 citizens of Ukraine to endure a difficult winter in our fraternal and friendly Georgia,” Andrey Kasyanov said.
