A man blew himself up in a hotel room in Tbilisi, the Pirveli TV channel reports today.
The incident happened early in the morning at the Lux Hotel on Agmashenebeli alley. According to the preliminary version, the guest blew up a grenade.
He received serious injuries and was hospitalized in the medical center named after academician O. Gudushauri. According to doctors, the patient’s condition is serious.
Journalists found out that the man had debts. It is assumed that he rented a hotel room specifically in order to commit suicide.
The footage from the scene shows that the windows in the room on the second floor are broken. Currently, the hotel building is sealed.
The investigation was launched on the fact of the explosion (Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
