PACE Resolution Declares Russia a Terrorist Regime

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution “Further escalation of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine”, in which it recognized the Russian regime as terrorist.

According to Ukrainian media, 99 delegates voted in favor of the resolution. One abstained.

The document states that Russian aggression must be condemned as a crime, a violation of international law and a serious threat to international peace and security.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe calls on Russia to immediately and unconditionally stop its aggression against Ukraine, to completely and unconditionally withdraw its occupying forces from the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine.

Assembly members also call on Russia to withdraw its troops from Georgia and Moldova. In addition, the Assembly calls on the OSCE to continue assessing Russia’s aggression against Georgia and Moldova with the help of appropriate tools. The deputies call on Russia to put an end to nuclear threats and commit itself to non-use of nuclear weapons, as well as to stop using energy resources as a weapon of blackmail.

In addition, PACE calls on members of the Council of Europe to expedite the creation of a special international tribunal to investigate crimes of aggression against Ukraine.
