Opposition women deputies expressed solidarity with Tsulukiani

Opposition women deputies held today, September 23, a briefing in solidarity with Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Teya Tsulukiani.

In particular, Khatuna Samnidze, Ana Buchukuri, Teona Akubardia and Tamar Kordzaya publicly expressed their solidarity.

According to Tamar Kordzaia, any woman politician who experiences inequality deserves solidarity, regardless of her political affiliation.

“It is unacceptable when a woman minister finds herself in a situation where, in the performance of her duties, she has to interact with men on the verge of a physical conflict. Every woman in politics experiences inequality. It may be different.

Therefore, we will always be in solidarity with any woman who is in politics and faces injustice, regardless of her political affiliation,” said Tamar Kordzaia.

Yesterday, September 22, at a hearing in parliament, Tea Tsulukiani stated that she, as a woman minister of sports, has many problems in relations with sports federations on women’s rights. Tsulukiani hinted that there was an attempt to hit her.

“In general, violence in sports is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Another problem is the attitude that the Ministry should bring money and ask nothing. This directly means that someone has the feeling that he can spend this money as he wants, and if someone opposes, including the minister, you can try to hit, ”she said, without specifying which federation is being discussed.
