Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law providing for up to 10 years in prison for violating the terms of a state contract in the field of state defense orders.

The corresponding document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information, RIA Novosti reports.

We are talking about a violation by an official of the terms of the state contract on the state defense order, which caused damage to the state in the amount of at least 5% of the contract price and at least 5 million rubles, as well as failure to fulfill the contract.

For refusal or evasion of the mandatory conclusion of a state defense order contract by an already identified contractor or supplier, a prison sentence of up to eight years is threatened if the violator has already been subjected to administrative punishment for such actions.

Exemption from punishment is possible if violations are voluntarily eliminated.
