High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell announced the EU plans to launch a large-scale operation to train the Ukrainian military. According to Ukrinform, The Telegraph reports.

“It seems reasonable that the war that is going on and will obviously continue to continue will require our efforts not only in terms of material supply,” Borrell said at a press conference in Santander, Spain.

He noted that at present several countries of the European Union are training the Ukrainian military on the basis of bilateral agreements, but on August 29 in Prague, the defense ministers of the EU member states will discuss the details and principles of organizing the exercises of the Ukrainian military under the auspices of the European Union.

Borrell stressed that this would be a massive mission.

Several EU countries have joined the training of the Ukrainian military in the UK. In particular, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands have joined the mission.
