Georgia successfully completed a practical field exercise organized by the US Department of Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The State Security Service of Georgia acted as the host of the exercises.

According to the State Security Service, the Georgian units received the highest rating from American expert groups.

About 200 representatives of the State Security Service, the Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and units of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia took part in the exercises. The purpose of the exercises was coordinated interdepartmental work against the spread of chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear threats.

At the end of the training, the participants were awarded special certificates and nominal coins. The closing ceremony was held at the training center of the State Security Service.

“During the educational process, the importance of well-coordinated and coordinated work of law enforcement agencies in case of emergency was clearly demonstrated. I am glad that the special services of our country successfully coped with the task assigned to them and showed a high level of training,” said Major General Giga Nikoleishvili, deputy head of the State Security Service.
